As part of the ECOWAS ISAC project, supported by the European Union, the ECOWAS Commission, and the German Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt), Cyber Defense Africa participated in two major international events held in Copenhagen in June 2025: the FIRST Conference (FIRSTCON25) and the National CSIRT Conference (NATSCIRT).
The FIRSTCON25, organized by the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), is the annual global gathering of CSIRT member teams. Over the course of five days, our representatives took part in:
- advanced technical sessions,
- expert panels on emerging threats,
- Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and Birds of a Feather (BoFs) meetings, and
- a dynamic Capture The Flag (CTF) competition.
These engagements offered an exceptional platform to deepen our expertise in incident prevention, detection, and response, while fostering strategic connections with leading technical communities worldwide.
Following this, our team also attended the NATSCIRT Conference on June 27–28, 2025 — a key event for enhancing collaboration between National CSIRTs and strengthening regional coordination efforts.
This mission reaffirms Cyber Defense Africa’s commitment to contributing proactively to a more resilient, cooperative, and sovereign cybersecurity ecosystem, both in West Africa and beyond. As the operator of Togo’s national CERT (CERT.tg), designated by the National Cybersecurity Agency, CDA continues to engage with global counterparts to elevate cyber readiness at all levels.
